Career Counseling Connecticut works with clients of all ages. Indeed, I’ve been surprised that the number of thirtysomething and fortysomething clients fill up so much of my calendar.

But the original mission of our company was founded on the view that most young people head into careers without having sufficient career advisory through college.

Colleges are very good at (1) providing courses in specialized fields and (2) at the more higher end colleges, helping clients get jobs. Both tangentially relate to career exploration. But neither provide the comprehensive overview related to matching students with careers. Specifically, it might be that someone does well enough in a finance class but that doesn’t mean the person is best suited for a career in finance. While interviewing with different companies will be helpful to present concrete options to the college student, it would be far better if the student created the vision first and then sought out companies that matched.
