Summers are tough for those who are out of work. Many companies leave their hiring for the fall and many hiring managers go on vacation. Career changers often make the terrible decision to wait for career planning until the fall for those reasons.
Job searches take 1-3 months minimum. Career shifting takes longer. Waiting until the fall for either likely means that your new job or career shift won’t take place until 2020.
Use July and August for career planning. You will then be prepared to shift careers in the fall.
