By nature,  I am an idealist.  Idealists are almost always conflicted about money.  Sure, we want it but that’s not our primary driver for work (beyond a certain income) and “selling” to others as in convincing others to part with their money is definitely not our thing.

In relation to career counseling,  I am particularly self-conscious because unlike some other tangible services (resume review) there the end result is more abstract.

Nonetheless,  I have become less reserved on the issue.  Many people who are unhappy in their jobs spend  more money on a fancy dinner than on career investment.  That’s crazy in the context of life happiness.
