I’m not from Connecticut. So when I hear natives complain about Connecticut, I’m often surprised. Connecticut’s image outside its own borders is that of a wealthy land of posh suburbs and idyllic small coastal towns. Having lived in several other places, I attest that this is true!

There is a challenge. Large corporations are not here in abundance. So, traditional career paths for those who want the Fortune 500 is centered around Stamford and Hartford, with small deposits in New Haven and Southeastern, CT.

But… the world has shifted. Telecommuting is the new normal for many industries. Connecticut has incredible public schools and delightful weather in the May-September range. Yes, I hear some groans about winter. But, really? New England’s Thanksgiving-Christmas season is the stuff of movies and TV shows displaying happy holiday cheer. Perhaps there are some valid complaints regarding the length of the winter but otherwise, Connecticut is a great place to live.

And, it will a lot easier to have a thriving career in Connecticut given the post-pandemic world we now inhabit.
