I am in Panama right now with my wife and three children. Beautiful country. Wonderful people. Fantastic vacation on the beaches, the city, and the jungle. And, yet I look forward to getting back to work.
Strange, right? I would have thought so too when I was in the last part of my legal career. Thoughts of going back to work for the start of any new week would make me anxious. Leaving vacation would make me sad.
Now, while I love being with my family and thoroughly enjoy weekends and vacation, I also love feeling purposeful at work. My work provides meaning and much of the time it provides a reasonable amount of enjoyment. Sure there are challenges. But no more so than navigating the roads of Panama.
When I am in my “zone” – helping clients reach their potential – I am at my best. That makes me happy. I want the same for you.
Happy work is possible. I know from my journey and I know from the journies of Career Counseling Connecticut’s clients.
