My wife and I started watching Suits on Netflix.  Apparently, it has become the surprise hit of recent months, despite being a rediscovered show from a decade earlier.  I presume Meghan Markle’s supporting case acting had something to do with the interest.  But the show is surprisingly good.  And, I usually do not like watching legal shows… because I was a lawyer.

I was an associate at a large Washington, DC law firm. My version of Louis Littman (the overbearing partner on the show) was a partner with the last name “Winer” (sounds like whiner)

One time, Winer left 17 voicemail messages.  Many took the full three minutes of message time allotted.

Regardless of the merits of his comments,  the process was maddening.  I had to listen to approximately 50 minutes of voicemail messages, take notes, and then amend accordingly for his second review, which while not quite as painstaking also involved another extensive series of edits, some of which involved my partner editing his earlier edits.
