If you are reading Career Counseling Connecticut’s blog on a Sunday, then you know what I mean….

Sometime around mid-day, you will start to feel a creeping anxiety or an enhanced state of melancholy. You should be enjoying your weekend. But subconscious thoughts about work are sliding into your conscious mind.

I know. I was there for many years during my legal career. Seems like ancient history since it was turn of the century but I remember the feeling as if it were yesterday. It was quite profound. Indeed, I have a bizarre memory of JFK Jr.’s plane crash. (Just checked – July 16, 1999). I was at a cool outdoor market in Stony Creek (Branford CT). Trying to bolster my mood, I reminded myself to be grateful for life. Good self-coaching. But I also thought: if I have to feel grateful that I wasn’t in a plane crash in an effort to make myself feel better about going to work the next day, then I really should change my work!

Let’s get you out of the Sunday blue.
