The pandemic took its toll on college students.

Terrible time to be in college.  But also a terrible time to think about building a career.

Internships were remote.  Or disappeared.

Colleges are generally terrible at helping college students with their career planning were particularly terrible in the last couple of years. Why?  Because the best thing that Career Planning Offices at most colleges do is bring employers to campus to interview students.  That benefit was not possible. So students were left to fend for themselves.

And most college students do not do well without some structure.

Many of Career Counseling Connecticut’s job seeking clients are recent college graduates living in Connecticut who are trying to find jobs.  They almost always need help with crafting resumes, interview help, and overall job search strategy.   But most importantly, many do not really know what they want from a job.

That shows.  Hiring managers interview dozens of candidates every year.  They are highly experienced at deciphering who really wants to work for their companies and who is just looking for a job.

Perhaps the most significant advantage that we have given to our job seeking clients is focus. We help craft a job vision for our career coaching clients.  That often makes all the difference in getting a job versus heading back home to the family couch.
