There has never been a 25 year period in world history that has dealt with as much structural work change as 1997-2022. This is not hyperbolic.

The Industrial Revolution is the only time frame that comes close and that lasted 75 years. The Internet Revolution – if that’s what “this”  ends up being called – has changed everything and has also changed how fast change comes. The pandemic accelerated most changes but didn’t start the various shifts in our workforce that were well afoot prior to 2020.

I have been writing about what is often called The New World of Work since the mid-2000s.  I’ve been doing so because I watched the changes in real time as I was building Career Counseling Connecticut.  I also did so because my own career path – starting out as a big city, big organization attorney and transforming to an entrepreneur in small town  Connecticut – was one data point in the massive change.

I also did so because I have been consumed in thinking/reading/advising young adults about changes in the work world.  I have studied the blockchain and cryptocurrency and am getting up to speed on the Metaverse.  All this change fascinates me.  But more importantly, it helps me help our clients.

If you – or your children – need help planning for a career in the New World of Work, you’ve come to right place.

And for those thinking about building something within the Metaverse or understanding the New World of Work, check out Fiverr.   The gig economy, for better or worse, is here to stay.
