The pandemic will end. And, students will move forward. Sooner the you think. Here’s why this matters to parents: most students/parents/people on Earth have been frozen in making plans.

If you are in a situation where future planning does not matter that much – a steady job (if there is such a thing) or a retiree – then not planning for the future is not particularly consequential.

But if you are in school- particularly high school – not planning for the future can have devastating consequences.

Whenever I work with “lost twenty somethings”, the initial cause of their wandering in the career wilderness did not start in their early twenties but almost always in high school. In running Career Counseling Connecticut, I will listen to stories that often begin: “I really didn’t think much about college or what I wanted to do for a career when I was in high school….”

Start planning.
